环境保护 

　　中国是一个发展中的大国，又处在工业化的过程中，环境问题比较突出，因此国家把环境保护列为一项基本国策。

　　近年来，中国政府采取了各种措施来加强环境治理，如建立了世界著名的生态工程“三北防护林工程”，大力发展和广泛建立自然保护区，颁布了《环境保护法》，加强环境保护的宣传和教育。目前，环境治理已取得了明显成效，大部分城市环境和农业生态环境得到了改善，工业污染防治能力也大大提高，环境保护已成为人人关心的话题，日益得到人们的重视。

　　China is a big developing country and in the process of industrialization; therefore, the environmental problem is comparatively prominent. The government has consequently taken environmental protection as one of the basic national policies.

　　It has taken various measures to strengthen environmental improvement in recent years, such as the world famous ecological project "the shelter-forests in Northern, Northwestern and Northeastern China".In addition, nature reserves have been greatly developed. The Law on Environmental Protection has been enacted and education on environmental protection issues has been greatly strengthened. Now, great achievements have been gained in environmental improvement. The environment in most cities and the agricultural ecological environment have much improved. The capability of preventing and controlling industrial pollution has been greatly expanded. Environmental protection has become a topic of concern to all.
